Parenting coaching

I work with parents of neurodivergent children to help understand communication dynamics, pre-empt meltdowns, and set the family up for success.

What I bring to the table

  • Parent to a level 1 autistic 10-year old son.
  • Experience working through the assessment process with multiple evaluators.
  • Experience setting up an IEP with schools, and making sure accommodations are enforced.
  • 10+ years working in the tech sector as a leader, manager, and coach.
  • A strengths-based, transparent approach – I work with you to understand how your child’s brain works and what strengths they bring to the table, as well as how to talk to your child transparently about their own mind.

I can help:

Navigate the assessment process, helping you answer questions like:

  • Should I get my child assessed? What are the pros and cons?
  • How do I find the right place to assess my child?

Ensure that you and your child feel more grounded, stable, and in control, helping you answer questions like:

  • How do we pre-empt meltdowns?
  • How I help my child shift from negative self-talk to a more positive view of themselves?
  • How do I address violence or big emotions?
  • Will things change as my child grows older?
  • How do I accommodate my child’s super senses while still staying sane?

Brainstorm the best approach to school, helping you answer questions like:

  • What should I look for in a school?
  • How do I set up an IEP (Individualized Education Program)?
  • What kinds of things can I ask for in an IEP?

As an added support,

My son can join the occasional call:

  • To help understand the motivations of your child
  • To brainstorm ideas to help resolve inter-family conflicts
  • To interpret what your child may be too shy to state to an adult
